I created this jacket in my free-time before I started my capstone project. I wanted to create a winter denim jacket that could easily be layered with another garment such as a hoodie or sweater. I wanted to use a comfortable lining that would help insulate the heat that is created when wearing the jacket. From first glance, I wanted the audience to notice that it is a denim jacket, but wanted to incorporate abstract elements which prompted me to add the external pockets. All of the pockets are completely functional (despite the overlapping stitching on the pockets). I created this garment in the comfort of my home studio. Unfortunately, I did not have access to a surging machine so I had to cross stitch the edges to the best of my ability to clean up all of my edges before stitching everything together.

- This design was a collaborative piece created by Zae (prayforme.com) and I. Here we have a basic denim jacket with welt pockets, detailed red stitching and extensive pattern-making. I created one for myself and one for Zae with the same design but different details on the left shoulder to differentiate between the two garments. The garment is lined with denim which adds weight and comfort. Initially, I was not going to line the garments because I did not want to have unnecessary weight when this jacket was intended to be worn during the spring. By adding the extra layer, we gave the consumer that extra option to wear the garment for warmth, simple layering or style purposes.

Textiles/Fabric
- Home Decor Suede (100% Polyester)
Construction/Process
- These are the first pair of pants I created that are tailored specifically for my fit. I created the embroidery design via adobe illustrator and converted it to a .PES design so my embroidery machine could illustrate it properly. I created two versions of these sweatpants; the first version analyzing the fit and the second version perfecting the fit. By analyzing the fit, I was able to make the necessary alterations to the pattern so that the pants fit perfectly, width and length wise. There are functional welt pockets on both side seams that I added to add to enhance the overall composition of the garment. These are still in the sample stages and need another fit evaluation before I consider to decide production.
